CST was acquired by Dassault Systèmes in 2016, and since then CST Studio Suite has been a product of Simulia.ĬST Studio Suite provides fast, accurate, accessible electromagnetic simulation for engineers, designers, and researchers working in many fields, including microwaves, RF & optical, EDA & electronics, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), particle dynamics, statics, and low frequencies.ĬST Studio Suite's huge solver array and co-simulation capabilities make it suitable for a wide variety of applications, including antennas, microwaves & RF, biological EM, optical, EDA/electronics, EMC/EMI, particle dynamics, statics/low frequency, and coupled thermal and structural multiphysics.
Although the software was initially developed for particle accelerator laboratories, it found application in microwave engineering, and so FIT was implemented in CST Microwave Studio (CST MWS) in 1998, which became CST Studio Suite in 2005. The predecessor to CST Studio Suite, MAFIA ("solving Maxwell's equations with the Finite Integration Algorithm"), was sold by CST, a university spin-off from TU Darmstadt founded in 1992 to commercialize the FIT method originally invented in 1977 by Thomas Weiland.
